What To Do With Amazon Package I Didn’t Order

What to Do With Amazon Packages You Didn’t Order? You may get products from a giant e-commerce company like Amazon.

If you get some freebies as a reward or for testing purposes, that’s amazing. But here is a product that is not ordered.

Can you get an Amazon package without placing the order?

It is happening. It is a scam.

One random day I received an SMS that said “Your package from the seller’s Shop was delivered today…”.

For a second I thought it was a fake message from some fraud company, but then I saw the proper Amazon messaging format. Of course today everyone has experience with online shopping so people can see the message is from Amazon.

After reading the message I quickly logged in to my Amazon account to see if the account got hacked. But I can see everything there my last purchase and all the listings. There was no recent order.

Below is your Amazon package delivery SMS. That appears clearly.

What to do when you receive an Amazon package without placing an order?

You can straightforwardly reject it. Do not receive the product if you have not placed an order.

As you can see in the above images, delivery messages mentioned the amount to pay. You can immediately check the product to see if it is your product.

You can not cancel the product because it is not your order. There will be no records on your account. But you can avoid receiving it if there is a payment to receive.

Can you place a complaint to Amazon?

Amazon provides customer service, so you can contact them. But it has not helped.

The product you did not order but the package arrived at your door, can be rejected or received. It is all up to you.

Reporting such misplaced or unordered products may be helpful for Amazon’s delivery service.

The steps you can follow

If you have received an Amazon product that you have not ordered, you can follow these steps:

  1. Confirm the shipping address in Your Orders. Verify if the shipping address in Your Orders is correct.
  2. Look for a notice of delivery attempt. Check the Message Center. Look for a delivery confirmation in Your Orders. Check your mailbox or wherever else you receive mail.
  3. Check around the delivery location. Check your delivery instructions in Your Addresses. The package could have been left where you requested.
  4. Ask your household members and neighbors. Check if someone else accepted the delivery.
  5. Wait 48 hours for the package to be delivered. Packages may be mistakenly scanned as delivered up to 48 hours before arrival¹.
  6. You can check with the carrier. The carrier may have more information about the location of the package. To track your package on the carrier’s website or contact them, go to Carrier Contact Information¹.

If you have not located the package after following the steps above, you can:

  • If your order is shipped and sold by a third-party seller, contact the seller directly for assistance. Go to Contact a Third-Party Seller.
  • If your order was shipped by Amazon, contact Customer Service within 30 days of expected delivery. They will do everything they can to help.

Why did such a thing happen?

There are many scamming ideas some people do in the name of the giant company. There were hundreds of MLM scams we have heard.

Basically, some people sell data on the dark web. One report was published that someone is selling personal data on the dark web for near about $80,000 available for anyone internationally.

So, somehow the data from such sellers or the social sites or classified websites had been sold to any person. Once I got a call from a well-known classified website customer care executive if I am interested in premium employees data.

Anyone can forward your personal data to any third party. Some sites do have terms for the same that they can sell the data to a third party. While registering you agree to those, if you reject you can not be a member there.
