You open your laptop, and there is no mouse pointer on the screen. This occurred unexpectedly, and you have not recently modified any system settings.

Looking for a solution to get your cursor back on your laptop or thinking about why the mouse not showing up on your laptop? Fixing mouse pointer on Windows laptop. Here we will try to get this done with just a setting.

What made the mouse pointer disappear?

What actually can make the pointer invisible on the screen? If you are using an old laptop, then the USB port, mouse itself or the wire may be the reason.

Invisible mouse pointer does not happen only on old laptops, it can happen on new devices too. There are a couple of reasons that cause the mouse pointer to be invisible.

  • Connection issues: This applies to wired and wireless mice. Ensure wire connection and free of any damages in wire mouse. For a wireless mouse, see if the battery is fresh. You can also try using a different USB port.
  • Mouse settings: Your mouse pointer might be hidden in your computer’s settings. This is more likely on laptops with touchpads. Look for touchpad or mouse settings in your control panel and see if the touchpad or mouse has been accidentally disabled.
  • Outdated drivers: Outdated drivers can sometimes cause glitches with your peripherals, including your mouse. Try updating your mouse driver to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Software conflicts: In rare cases, other software running on your computer might interfere with your mouse. Try restarting your computer to see if it clears up the conflict.

How can I get back the mouse pointer visible on my laptop?

Before looking for the complex issues, you should always look for the basic settings first. Like, check the connections (USB port) and the wire.

Here the problem occurred in my Asus Vivobook 15 laptop. I also faced the same problem on my old laptop, restarting the system fixed it.

Method 1: Restart the system

The primary answer for these types of problems is to restart the system. In some cases, it works without digging into the mouse settings.

If there is a Software conflict, restarting may solve the problem.

To restart the system, hit the start button on the keyboard. To move the selection, use the TAB button. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut key Alt+F4 key and then the arrow key to choose from the drop-down.

Method 2: Touchpad settings

If restarting the system does not work, follow this method.

When your system is ready to work, open the start menu by pressing the Windows key from the keyboard.

Start menu search for touchpad

Now search for the Touchpad Settings by typing the keyword “touchpad”. Then hit the enter key, and it will open the touchpad settings. Settings -> Bluetooth -> Touchpad

Windows touchpad

You need to turn on the touchpad option. To do so, move the selection with the keyboard TAB button.

Now, use the Spacebar key to turn the toggle button ON. Just after it, you will see the mouse point on the screen.

Method 3: Driver update

Official support forums and in other communities suggest this. The update may have broken somehow. Or the outdated mouse driver is the reason.

You can go to the system settings and check for recent updates and run if there is available. Then restart the system. Do it and it will solve.
